Ligustrum trees and shrubs adapt very well. They grow in full sun and partial shade. With the exception of Chinese species, they persist in most types of soils. For them, moderate levels of salt in the soil are appropriate. It is not recommended to plant these plants on the edges of highways that can be covered with salt in winter and on the shores of the ocean, where the leaves are likely to be covered with salt. The one-eyed plant can withstand moderate pollution of the urban environment.
